Volume 1 covers the history of Portugal up to 1495. The chapters are a linear history and are named after the king on the throne at that time. There are a number of mentions of Indes in the book, although some refer to Indes Occidentales and Colomb. However Goa and Calicut are mentioned in 1486 as ports visited by Covillan.
Volume 2 covers Portuguese history from 1495-1521. The volume has extensive references to Goa and Cochin (over 50 pages each) from 1499 onwards, as well as Calicut, Zamorin, Inde and Indes. The book gives a linear history of Portuguese involvement in Inde and hence references to Inde and places in Inde can be found in most chapters of the book.
